The beginning of last month, Ben had a day off of work due to it being slower and them not needing him. We took advantage of getting time together and headed to Grandpa and Grandma’s for a little leaf raking party. They made us a yummy breakfast, and then Ben and I got busy raking leaves while Jayden enjoyed a nature walk with Great Grandpa Durfee. They went to the store while on their walk, and Grandpa even bought Jayden a new ball. He was so excited to show me. When they got back, we all enjoyed a little banana split (my FAVORITE treat) break, before heading back out to keep working in the yard.
It was so nice to enjoy the great outdoors together. Ben and I got laughing so hard while working on the leaves together. It felt so good to laugh and have fun together. My Grandma told us how cute we were together, and how much she enjoyed watching us out the window. It felt good to leave all life’s daily stresses behind and just goof off together for a day. Jayden joined in the fun later and had an absolute blast jumping in, walking through, throwing, and playing in all the leaves. He was so cute to watch! He even made a pretty good little helper.
Jayden had a little fun with his sippy cup of water (again), before his and Grandpa’s walk. He was SO excited about going on a walk with one of his best buddies.
Jayden would load the leaves into his dump truck, push it over to the garbage can, and put them in by hand. It was adorable! He also proved to be a good little leaf packer.
Even Mommy joined in on the leaf play. I have to admit-it was pretty fun. Now if only the pile was just a little bigger…
Can you find little Jayden? Well…his feet anyway.
It all made for a very good day spent as a family.
