With Jayden being sick on his birthday and me battling a bad cold and a rough pregnancy with nausea, we had a bit of a hard time getting everyone together for his birthday to celebrate. We actually did not have his actual birthday party until the first week of October, and even then it was a bit of a lame attempt on my part since we just combined it with my Grandpa’s big surprise party birthday bash at my aunt’s house…but I tired and sometimes that needs to be good enough. I had a hard time not being able to throw big themed party for him ( I LOVE putting those together), but there is always next year, right? Jayden had a BLAST with all the different days of attention, fun, and treats, and if you ask me, that is really all that matters.
Jayden enjoyed getting mail from Great Grandma and Grandpa Durfee for his birthday. Don’t mind the puffy face, like I said we were battling bad colds. He is still smiling though. What a little trooper!
With being sick the day of his birthday and still wanting to make it special and fun for him, we skipped the cake and did pancakes with applesauce and whipping cream instead. I am happy to report that they were a HUGE hit with our little guy.
Since blowing out the candles is his favorite part, we let him blow them out three times in honor of his third birthday. He thought that was pretty great!
With the craziness with sickness, pregnancy, and one car, we did not get his present until the day after his birthday. Lucky for us, he was still just as excited and was so understanding about it. Sure love our easy-going guy!
I just adore how much this little guy jumps and squeals when he is excited, and let me tell you-he is excited a LOT!
He LOVED it and he still plays with it non-stop. He is sitting next to me watching me put this together right now and is talking about how much he LOVED opening this present and how much he LOVES to play with it and that it is his favorite. SO cute!
More of his adorable jumping in excitement!
He was so excited about the train that he completely forgot about the candy. For a little while anyway.
My Grandma came to visit a couple days after his birthday to bring him a present. He got a new Thomas the train outfit and Thomas the train underwear to help encourage his potty training. He LOVES them!
On October 4th…he finally got his cake and got to eat it too.
Present time! Even Jayden scored another one thanks to Naomi’s thoughtful Grandmother. It was the perfect gift too. He LOVES books!
Our cute little Jocie! She had been fussing all night, but Aunt Lindsay finally got these cute smiles out of her.
Cake time!!!
Jayden LOVED his cake. Hopefully it was worth the wait. Such a handsome little birthday boy!
Making birthday wishes! Grandpa’s cake had trick candles. It was funny to watch him keep trying to blow them out. It started smoking like crazy and my Mom asked if it was going to trigger the smoke alarms that were set up to alert the fire department. The alarms did not go off, but not a second after my Mom asked that, we heard sirens and all burst into laughter. Good times!
Happy Third Birthday Jayden!!! Hope you had a fabulous couple of weeks celebrating. We LOVE you!
