Well, here it is. Our last day of fun for Ben’s five days off of work, and what AMAZING days they were! Such good memories, and Jayden still talks about our trips and visits today (now a month later). Since I had a play performance the night before and would have another one that night as well, we took it pretty easy. This really helped us wind down from all the excitement a bit while still allowing us to enjoy one last day trip. We slept in, lounged and watched movies, ate lunch, and then headed over to the Union Station (a whole five minute drive from our place). It was perfect, and I think this may just have been Jayden’s favorite stop (had it not been for the AWESOME monkeys at the zoo, of course). It sure was fun and Jayden got really excited about the “Yhuge (Jayden puts a “y” and the beginning of the word “huge” and it is the cutest thing ever!) choo choo trains”, and the ramp outside. He played and ran on that thing for a good half hour! He also got quite the kick out of the small model trains that zoomed around the display cases inside. It was so fun to live vicariously through our little guy’s BIG excitement for life and adventure. Parenthood (although it has its difficult moments) is the BEST, folks! So excited for my brother Ryan and his wife Hilary who have a sweet, little one due next month!
We let Daddy have a day to sleep in, but Jayden could not resist kissing and cuddling with him while he slept. I told him to let Daddy sleep, but he looked up at me with those big, brown eyes and asked me if he could “kiss Daddy?” Reminds me of me when he is asleep.
It was not long before Daddy was awake and started a tickle war! Darn that tickle monster! And with Daddy now awake, jumping on the bed was finally allowed.
This is what we end up with when the train goes by right as we are taking a picture.
It was the perfect end to a FUN week!
