We had been wanting to, and had not yet taken the frontrunner somewhere, so we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to go and see the Christmas lights at Temple Square. We purchased a group pass for $15, so we invited Cami to come along with us. Jayden LOVED the train (of course) and still talks about riding on it to this day and every time we pass the station. It turned out to be a pretty fun nights spent at City Creek Mall and Temple Square, and since it was one of the few very cold days this winter, we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The only downside? Missing the last train slot that was a 1/2 apart and having to wait an hour and a half in the cold for the last train of the night. We ended up hiding out in the glass elevator to block the bad wind chill and made it through. Jayden was such a good sport and kept us all laughing and smiling through the little misadventure (we are known for those). The good news, the more people that gathered in that little elevator to catch the last train the warmer it got and the funnier Jayden was. All in all it was one pretty good night!
We enjoyed some good ole’ $5 pizza from Little Caesar’s before heading out. Everyone loved it, but it unfortunately did not work for baby and Mommy.
It was snowy, windy, and cold. Luckily it calmed down a bit down south.
We grabbed a plate of my much-loved Asian food since the pizza did not sit too well for me. It was SO good and enough for the three of us to share. We enjoyed a little picnic with it while watching the water and music show at the main fountain. It was great! We got to enjoy three songs with the water, lights, and fire dancing to each and every beat of the music.
Jayden would touch the snow and water with his bare hands-crazy kiddo!
Jayden really loves the Baby Jesus.
We walked all the way to the train in the wind and cold anticipating the nice warm train, just to end up waiting for over an hour…bleh. Good thing we had sweet and happy little Jayden to keep our spirits up.
At least the elevator was nearby and blocked the wind taking away from the cold a bit.
Jayden snapped these shots of Ben and I, Cami, and himself (bottom right). Not too bad, eh?
We warmed up with McDonald’s and hot cocoa when we finally got back home. I was SO grateful for our warm home with the blizzard outside and almost not getting back home that night. I was definitely thankful for my warm bed that night. It was all still a good adventure and a great memory though.
