We had a great start to our year of 2015 and are really looking forward to all it will bring. Ben started back to school to pursue becoming a Physician’s Assistant, this is the year he should finally go regular with the Post Office with guaranteed hours and pay and BENEFITS (crossing our fingers it happens before the baby comes as it is much cheaper than the private insurance we have now-it is looking like it will be close) after a two year wait, we will be adding a new baby to our family, and have planned a trip to the Oregon Coast this August! We could not be more excited about 2015! Here is our first month of what is looking to be a very promising year for our family!
New Year’s Day, we had a fun date night with my parent’s. We went to dinner at Costa Vida, and then hit up Cine Pointe 6 as part of my Dad’s birthday movie passes we gave him last year. We ended the fun with snacks and sparkling cider at home with Jayden. It was a fun night and the perfect first day of 2015!
This boy LOVES the train track set he got for Christmas from Santa. Every day he says, “Santa gave this to me. That is nice of Santa. Santa loves Jayden.” It is so precious!
Jayden’s first Jell-O wiggly experience turned out to be a fun and yummy activity! We have started to collect these different molds from Wal-Mart. For a buck a piece it makes for some cheap and yummy fun!
Jayden could not decide which hat to wear, so he went with all of them.
Jayden built this track all on his own-pretty impressive if you ask me. I am not sure I could have done it. He also got a Thomas Tent that he was pretty excited about and has come to love.
Once we had another BOY confirmed, I got busy with getting the nursery ready.
Jayden loves it when I crave Chinese, because it means he gets his yummy egg drop soup. He LOVES the stuff!
We let Jayden pick out a comforter for his new big boy bed to try and make the transition exciting, fun and personal for him. He picked an Avengers one with his favorite super hero-Captain America! He is Mommy and Daddy’s favorite as well. He was SO excited about it! It even glows in the dark which he thinks is absolutely stellar!
Tristan’s bedding came that same week, and is pretty cute as well.
We all enjoyed having Thayne (cutest kid ever-next to our Jayden of course) over one night while his parent’s enjoyed a date night out together before his baby sister came. These two are train-loving buddies and had an absolute BLAST playing for three whole hours!
There was lots of jumping and squealing at the Ostler house that night.
They even just so happened to have matching jammies-too cute!!!
My man LOVES me! He got me Ben and Jerry’s and let me watch Amercian Idol while he got Jayden to bed.
Since he was bummed about the rocker glider being taken from his room for the nursery, we decided to let him pick out a new chair for his room to trade him for it. It was the BEST idea EVER! We really want the transition of adding another baby to be as smooth as possible for Jayden.
We brought the winner home and he was SO excited about it!!!
Tristan’s swing and rock n’ play came (we scored them on sale and saved $100 on Amazon-YAY!)and Jayden was so good to help Daddy assemble them. He is so cute and is going to be such a good brother!
Can you spot him playing hide-and-seek behind the swing?
With the nice weather this crazy winter, I opened all the windows and got a ton of Spring Cleaning done (in January! SO nice to get it one before getting too uncomfortable and pregnant) while Jayden read books and helped me. Giving the plants a shower was his favorite part.
I told Ben that if he was going to do school, we were going to enjoy some fun college traditions along with it so one night we snuck away from the studies for a bit to grab some ice cream at Jake’s Over the Top. SO yummy and SO fun!
Jayden LOVES family scripture time and is always good to remind us to read them before we go to bed.
I think we got a good chair for his new big boy room. He seems pretty happy with it.
Jayden’s new big boy bed came! YAY!!! It was a bit of a headache getting it here and getting it assembled. We will probably never do business with RC Willey again. I actually called Ben in tears over the horrible way they treated me, the things they broke during assembly, and then it falling apart on me and me having to reassemble it on my own after they left, and ironically enough he ended up delivering mail on the same street they were delivering their next item while I was talking to him. Ben said it took everything in him not to go over and give them a piece of his mind, but it is all good now and I am glad we will never have to deal with them again. Thank goodness for that and thank goodness for a great hubby to check my work and make sure it was safe for our Jayden.
Night one was a SUCCESS! Jayden has always been an AMAZING sleeper from being a newborn, to cleft surgeries, to having to have a helmet, to moving, to being sick-nothing seems to mess with his awesome sleep routine. We have been very lucky! Tristan has some big slippers to fill. Ben and I have been spoiled with this guy so far.
