This past April we enjoyed making homemade soup and cookies for conference weekend, family reunions, a big candle-lit party at home when the power went out for five hours one night, and of course time as a family. Jayden has become quite the little helper when it comes to cooking and we sure have fun together. I have noticed he eats better if I let him help make the food. It may take a little longer, but boy is that time and those memories ever worth it! It was the month my play came to a close, so we got to enjoy a LOT more time together as a family.
In between sessions of Conference and while we waited for the soup to get done cooking, Jayden had fun making forts and castles with the kitchen furniture. He also had a little fun taking some selfies with Mommy’s nice, big camera.
The picture above is my favorite! LOVE this little boy!!!
This little guy always gets excited watching the cookies baking. I especially love the cute little pose he struck for the camera. What a ham!
Caleb was SO good while Ben trimmed and filed his nails. He is such a good puppy, that doggie of ours. He was rewarded with quality time and cuddles with Daddy afterwards. You know, for having as big of a personal bubble as I do, I sure have a house full of snugglers!
All ready with the cookies baked for the Durfee family reunion! It was SO fun! We got to see Kendra who recently returned from her mission to Italy and we got to meet Jake’s fiancé! It was a good night!
Since Kendra wanted to stop by our house afterwards, she asked Jayden if she could come to his house. He immediately smiled and took her by the hand to lead her to our car. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever! He has sure come to love her (almost as much as his Mommy loves her-Kendra and I have always been incredibly close).
Our “Light’s out party”. Lucky for us, even though our pizza was half-way through cooking when the power went out, it finished cooking with the heat left in the oven, and we had a fully charged laptop, so we made a movie night out of it! It also gave me a good excuse to relax and have some fun rather than finish up the housework. Score!
Jayden picked the “BIG fish movie”, so Free Willey it was! He LOVED it!
Jayden LOVED all the “Happy Birthday Candles”.
Once both boys were asleep, I decided to indulge in a little chick flick. It does not get much better than You’ve Got Mail.
It was past eleven when the lights finally came back on.
Working on crafts for my new niece Jocelyn!
Ben put our leftover Easter eggs to good use!
Unfortunately this plane was another failed attempt at Ben’s Christmas present. Bleh! On a better note, this was the night we discovered how amazing Costco’s pizza is. Bad news is…we are addicted! Ha ha!
Sometimes date nights consist of Pizza and cleaning out the garage at home. Good thing Ben and I always know how to have fun together no matter what we are doing.
Sundays at the Ostler house always consist of fun with Jayden and yummy and fun food!
Stay tuned! Our fun with friends and Easter is up next!
