Our Happy Easter!

This past Easter was probably my favorite thus far! We headed up to my parent’s right after church. Jayden was adorable throughout the festivities, and I could not help but enjoy living vicariously through his excited childhood state. Since he had already gotten some Easter Egg Hunt practice time in at Grandma’s,  he was quite the pro, which gave him quite the advantage (especially with his aunts and uncles wanting to help him retrieve the goodies), and he scored BIG time this Easter! I think my siblings and, well everyone for that matter had more fun watching Jayden enjoy the activity than doing it ourselves. It was a happy Easter this year!

My Mom, Cami, and I put the Easter baskets and eggs together. We all decided being the Easter bunny rocks, because you get to pick out all your favorite flavors for your own basket. ;) Plus, Mom even let us have the extras! Score! P.S.-Aren’t the basket/bags my Mom made the cutest ever?! She has been making these ever since I was a little girl. The ten of us are sure blessed with a loving and fun mother!

Before the hunt, we all enjoyed a delicious dinner!

We brought Caleb along, since he had already been cooped up at home while we were at church, and he rather enjoyed the walk with Ben through my parent’s neighborhood.

Then my Mom, Ryan, Hilary, Ben and I got to paly the Easter Bunny. Ryan took it a little more seriously, and got a little more into character, than the rest of us.

It took a while to get everyone rounded up to start the hunt, and Jayden was more than a little eager to get the party started. He ended up getting a little timeout for throwing one of his first tantrums, and almost breaking one of Grandma’s decorations (and thus it began). He was very polite and apologized, and gave Grandma a hug after Ben counted down from 10, and he was let off of time out.

And then it was on to Jayden’s happy hunt! Seriously, is he the cutest (tantrums and all) or what?
easter13-14
He was determined to get to the egg, without stepping on the flower beds he knows he is supposed to stay out of. What a good little guy!
easter13-17
First-his face in the above left picture just kills me! Secondly, we have a very smart little boy! He knew he could not reach the eggs on the tramp, so he would jump and hit the springs so they would wiggle free and fall. That little genius! Those were meant for the bigger kids!
easter13-15
Once he figured out that some of the eggs opened and had yummy goodness inside, things only got even more exciting!

He got the most excited though, when he found his basket with the BIG goodies!
easter13-19
He was getting very good at saying “peas” (please) for things this spring. He now says please and thank you for just about everything, and even reminds others (Ben and I included at times) to do the same. We were pretty proud of our little Mr. Manners!
easter13-20
He was a man on a mission!

After a little while, he started playing. This worked to his advantage, since all the other kids would just bring him all the goodies anyway (we gave back several, or Jayden would have gone home that night with nearly 50% of the goodies). I guess cuteness does pay!

After enjoying watching all the little ones, even the “big kids” a.k.a. we adults had a good time!
easter13-25
Mom and Dad did a really good job of hiding our baskets!
easter13-26
Cami was the last to find it (with the help of me playing hot n’ cold with her), and she was pretty excited when she was finally able to grab it!

It was a wonderful Easter Sunday, even if it did fall in March this year, which is just weird if you ask me.
