Since my birthday is August 4th, it often fell on the last family vacations and fun of summer before another school year began. Although, this frustrated me a bit growing up (since my birthday was "postponed to another day when we would be home, and with the amount of time people spent telling me it was not really my birthday it was somewhat of a bummer), but now that I am away and married these trips have turned into a birthday trip for me where my parents pay for Ben and I to tag along as my birthday present (like with Lava Hot Springs when I turned 21) for that year-not bad if you ask me! In 2010, the family trip was to Lagoon and Ben and I were more than happy to tag along! Ben tried to keep it a surprise, but…I am very hard to surprise thanks to my crazy determination and curiosity. He did, however, manage to surprise me with a birthday breakfast beforehand at I-hop-which was delicious! We had a BLAST at Lagoon with my family and Cami’s boyfriend Aaron. Mark my words, those two will end up married one day.
After all the fun at Lagoon, my Mom highlighted my hair, and Jared came over for his sleepover at our apartment (we host all of my siblings for sleepovers every now and then and they love it!), and he was nice enough to let Cami tag along for the fun. We had a blast celebrating my birthday even more with movies, games, swimming, junk food and of course-my traditional birthday ice cream cake! Cami and I even went shopping (which was Ben’s gift to me that year). It was a fun few days and ended with Ben and I dropping Jared back off at home before heading to my 5 year high school reunion (crazy how fast time flies), which is up next!
Ben and I started a tradition of introducing my siblings to In-N-Out! Any excuse to hit it us, right?
It was a wonderful birthday, and on that note, we were ready to head out for the reunion!
