After moving into our new place, we decided to get ourselves a housewarming gift. We were very baby hungry, but not in a position to have a baby just yet, so what did we do? We purchased baby rats. Meet Zoey and Chloe! We loved having these two for the time that we had them (we of course found them a new home when I actually did become pregnant less than a year later-it was not a planned pregnancy-but some of the best thing in life come that way). We literally cried after giving them away, but baby and pregnant me had to come first. The plus side was we did not have to go through watching them die, which I am grateful for because I got pretty attached to these two. For now, lets just focus on these two cuties. We had SO much fun with them and they were the perfect edition to our new place (although I know rats are not usually high on the list of desires for a new home) and we loved them!
We were not alone in that love. Many of our friends and family got pretty attached themselves. Especially my brother, Casey. Casey and I have always loved making pets of little critters. From snakes, to frogs, to bugs-we have always loved them all!
