Since we wanted Jayden’s birthday to include all of his favorite things, we threw him a cars, trucks, trains, and teddy bear birthday party! He went CRAZY for it! It made it all so much fun to see his reaction to it all. We partied for three days! With presents and cards in the mail on the 14th, a party at my parent’s on the 15th, and a party at home for his actual birthday on the 16th. It was a fun few days! Happy 2nd Birthday Jayden! We love you to the moon and back!
Jayden was SO excited about getting something in the mail-his birthday card from Great Grandma and Grandpa Durfee‘
What’s a birthday without licking off the beaters? This has been a tradition for me since I was just itty bitty.
I stayed up after Jayden finally went to bed to make his cake and get his party items ready.
With the leftover batter from the cupcakes, I made a little cake for Jayden and us for his actual birthday at home. The car and teddy heads I printed off and cut out for a party game.
Jayden was SO excited the next morning when he saw his cake. He started hyperventilating while exclaiming, “choo! choo!”, “choo! choo!”. It was ADORABLE!!!
This present sat in our living room for a week and Jayden did not mess with it once (much to mine and Ben’s surprise). I could barely wait to give it to him!
It was very cost efficient with using the decorations from his birthday last year, and his toys from home as weights for the balloons. It worked out great!
My brother Jared, kept this painting I did over a decade ago. It touched me that he would keep it for so long.
Present time! My Dad was AWESOME and took pictures, so Ben and I could enjoy opening them right alongside Jayden.
This present scared us all, when Jared drove it right out of the gift bag. Jayden LOVES it…even if he is a bit scared of it.
And now a drumroll for his big gift……
He went crazy for it! This came as no surprise, since for about three weeks before his birthday, we let him watch the advertisement for it over and over again (per his request). This is a present he definitely helped pick out himself.
Jayden loved being sung to, and even clapped at the end.
On your birthday, licking off the candles is also a must!
Jayden had fun playing with his cake and cars a bit before devouring them.
“Put the Bear in the Car” (a version of pin the tail).
Jayden did pretty good, even if he did cheat by not having a blindfold on. :) Derek and Chiharu tied for the prize!
Everyone wanted to play with Jayden’s new toy!
Jayden loved the big helium balloon that my Mom got. When you hit it, it would play party tunes.
Our little guy was spoiled!!!
Ben’s parent’s always personalize the gifts they give, and make them so cute!
We asked Jayden what he wanted for his birthday dinner and he exclaimed “Peepa!” (pizza), so we got a $10 dinner box from pizza hut. He was SO excited! After we picked it up, he wanted to eat it right away, but we told him he had to wait until we got home. So he said, “Daddy, go!”. He was so excited when we finally got home and he got to have some.
The mini cake I made was perfect for our little celebration just the three of us!
Then I did what any self-respecting mother does and let him stay up and play with me until midnight, while Daddy worked on school. Hey it is only your birthday once a year, after all.
A couple days later, we let Jayden spend his birthday dollar at the store. Any guesses as to what he bought? Yup! Bananas! We did have to stop and see his baby friend in the bakery too, of course.
He even paid for it and took his change all on his own!
I think he enjoyed his birthday! I know Mommy did!
