…until the car broke down, but not before Ben dropped Jayden and I off at the pool and went back to grab the rest of our group. Lovely. Luckily, my Grandmother’s neighbor came and picked Jayden and I up from the pool. It was on a night-the last night to be exact-of free swimming at the Aquatic Center with Grandma. The worst part was that we had promised my young cousins staying with her at the time that they could go with us. Too bad it turned into a water fun in the backyard/ let’s try and get the car fixed night at Grandma’s. I am not going to lie, it was a bit of a nightmare. Since we were still tight and trying to make up for the past year with Ben’s not getting paid/not working, we did not have the money for this. Ben decided to do it himself-Goodness LOVE that handyman of mine. He has saved us SO much money in the past, and did the same this night. We would have needed a tow truck, and with that, and the parts and the labor it would have added up to be quite a bit. Instead, we just bought the parts and saved hundreds! My visiting teacher’s husband was sweet, and drove Ben to the parts store, and then stayed and helped Ben until one in the morning-yes 1:00 a.m.! What a guy! We were definitely blessed that night and I am happy to say that the “Black Pearl” has been purring beautifully ever since!
When Jayden came out and saw the parts everywhere, he got this look of horror with his mouth forming a perfect O-shape, and said to me “Time out!”, as if Ben deserved the biggest time out for making such a mess of the car. It was too funny!
We put the back seat down, to try to give Jayden a place to sleep after the girls went to sleep, but he just played and had the time of his life instead.
When he got bored of being in the car, we let him out, and he found some potato bugs to play with.
Finally at one in the morning, the car was fixed and ready to get us home! Alleluia!
YAY!!! Daddy did it!!! :)
