We had a fun and cost-efficient Valentine’s day this year! Goodness that still feels so good to be able to type! Anyway, we started the festivities with a fun and romantic candle-lit dinner in the basement of Davis & Bott (where my Dad works). My parents, Ryan and Hilary, our Grandpa and Grandma Durfee, and Ben and I all got to be a part of the Valentine celebratory plans for the evening. After dinner, we enjoyed my Mom’s yummy raspberry cheesecake, and listened to a John Bytheway talk on marriage. My mom made it all so cute, and it was a wonderful evening.
How cute did my Mom make the table? She also made us all delicious French dip for dinner.
My Mom pretending to eat all the cheesecake, ha ha, and the cute party favors she made for each of us. Chocolate kisses with post-it notes. The talk we listened to talked about leaving notes around the house for your spouse. Ben and I have always LOVED doing this for one another, and we put them to good use the very next day for Valentine’s Day.
For Valentine’s Day, Ben and I kept it simple with love notes around the house for one another as our gifts to one another, frozen pizza for lunch (aren’t we romantic?), a chick flick, ice cream, and then we went to Walmart to grab some “treat” items for dinner. It was the PERFECT Valentine’s day on a budget, and one I am sure we will remember for years to come!
I got some sweet cuddles from Caleb for Valentine’s Day. He is such a sweetheart! He got extra treats for his Valentine’s Day!
Yay for LOTS of cheesy romantic post-it notes around the house!
Ben LOVED coming home to them when he came home.
Ready for our romantic ;) night on the town to hit up Walmart for dinner items.
Jayden was a little fussy, and after trying to get a good family Valentine’s Day photo several times these were the best two.
Yay for BBQ pulled-pork sandwiches, Doritos, sparkling grape juice, and chocolate pie for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner at home with our boys!
All of that topped off with this beautiful Valentine’s Day rose from Ben made for an incredible day of love at the Ostler house!
