So as many of you have probably caught on, I have always been very close to my Grandparents. That being said, Ben and Jayden have also become VERY close to them as well. They are not only our family, but they are some of our very best friends. Last spring when I was super busy with school, my grandparents would help watch Jayden. It was so nice to know that while I was busy at the computer and buried in books, he was having the time of his life going for walks, and playing at the park and in the backyard with Grandpa; and helping Grandma with food and goodies in the kitchen, and enjoying story time in the living room. It made it so much easier to focus on school knowing Jayden was being taken care of, and getting the attention that I could not always give him at the time. It was hard, but I am SO grateful to them for all they do for us!
One such time that they watched him, they all had a little surprise for us when Ben and I came to pick Jayden up that evening. Grandma and Grandpa had helped Jayden color eggs, and had gotten him an Easter basket, so we could all enjoy a little Easter Egg Hunt together. It meant SO much to me that they would go all out to create something special for our son like that. He was ecstatic, and quickly picked up on the whole “collect eggs and put them in the basket idea”. He was so happy, and was all squeals and giggles for the duration of the hunt. The four of us could not help giggling ourselves while we watched him have the time of his life!
Grandma even helped Jayden put these cute messages on the eggs, but some of the eggs had a safer journey to the bowl than others…
Just when Jayden did not seem to think it could get any better, Grandma brought out the Easter Basket. I have never seen Jayden’s eyes go so big, and then be quickly followed my an equally large smile.
The truck was his favorite part…oh, and the bag (of course), he could not have cared less about the candy.
He had SO much fun playing with it, and still does today!
After all the fun of the hunt, Jayden had some fun with this little ball. He would put it on this cupboard and then laugh and squeal when it would roll off, since it is slightly slanted. Then he would tuck the ball in the entertainment center and then clap and say “Yay!” It was so adorable to watch him play.
Grandma also sent Ben and I home with a little treat. :)
The festivities ended with Jayden giving Grandma a HUGE hug! She definitely deserved one-she made his whole day, and probably his whole life for that matter.
We sure are grateful for, and LOVE our Grandparents!!!
